Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Lizak, 89, of Vanport passed away Sunday May 22 in her home with her daughter holding her hand and son-in-law by her side. She was born February 20, 1933 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late John and Elizabeth Szallar. She retired at the age of 65 from the Dietary Department of Sewickley Valley Hospital and had attended Saint Peter and Paul Our Lady of the Valley Parish. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Joseph, son Andrew John, brothers John, Bill, Joe, Albert and Arpie, and sister and brother-in-law Irma and Walter Fredenberg. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Valerie Ann and Steve Botinovch, grandchildren Heather Wagner, Gabriel Caputo and Eric and Jeffrey Lizak, great-grandchildren Lexa and Seth Wagner, Brayden Lizak, Franco Caputo, Andrew Joseph ‘A.J.’, Cameron, Haylee and Reed Lizak, sister Sandra Civiletti and daughter-in-law Patty Lizak. Family viewing will take place in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street Thursday and a private service by Father Robert Miller will take place at Beaver Cemetery. The family thanks Pinnacle Hospice for their loving care for Betty, Dr. Grace Tarabay and staff, neighbor Colleen ‘Valerie’s Angel’ and Carlos and Michelle who were there when she needed them.
